The Rise and Fall of My Architectural Empire

image 1Last weekend, I decided to venture into the high-stakes world of real estate. My lead contractor (also known as Baba) and I spent a grueling four hours—from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM—constructing a custom-built house right on top of my crib. It was magnificent. It was avant-garde. It was exactly where a genius 36-month-old belongs. I immediately began the move-in process, transporting my most elite toy associates to their new penthouse. According to experts, building forts helps toddlers develop spatial awareness and creativity, but I just liked having a roof over my head that didn’t involve the ceiling.

The Matcha Bread and the Absentee Mother

image 1Yesterday evening took a turn for the dramatic. Mommy has been pulling a lot of ‘overtime’ lately. She’s been coming home so late she even left her car at the office once! Seriously, is she a CEO or a secret agent? Since she was busy being a career woman, Baba took me to the supermarket. We secured the essential supplies: matcha bread (the green stuff is clearly superior) and a trip to the bookstore. For dinner, we hit the streets for some hủ tiếu gõ and ‘fat-free’ pork chop rice. I say ‘fat-free’ because Baba insisted, but my toddler taste buds suspect a scam. Still, it fueled my big plans for the night.

The Midnight Demolition

image 1Usually, I grace the ‘Big Bed’ with my presence, but last night I had a bold vision: I would sleep in my new house. Mommy agreed, though she seemed a bit on edge. I might have pushed her buttons a few times before actually closing my eyes—hey, a girl has to maintain her reputation. But then, things got weird. I was talking in my sleep (probably discussing market shares or toy logistics), and Baba came in. I think he wanted to move me to the Big Bed to save me from the ‘cold,’ but I am a resident of my own castle! I refused. I protested. I cried. And then… BOOM. Baba had a total meltdown and decided to play ‘Godzilla,’ smashing my beautiful house into pieces. The audacity! Mommy and I had to evacuate for five minutes to let the dust settle before we returned to sleep in the ruins of my empire.

The Morning Mystery

This morning, I woke up and—surprise!—I was in the Big Bed. How did I get here? Did the house rebuild itself? Did I teleport? Or was the entire demolition derby just a fever dream brought on by too much matcha bread? I’m starting to think the adults in this house are more unpredictable than a 3-year-old on a sugar rush. I’ll be keeping a close eye on the ‘contractor’ from now on. My architectural career may be on hold, but my investigative journalism is just beginning.
