The Decathlon Ball Incident & The Great Gift Exchange I Was Left Out Of

The Great Decathlon Ball Betrayal

Today was supposed to be LEGENDARY.

Me. Baba. Decathlon. And the most magnificent, enormous, beautiful ball I have ever laid my tiny eyes on.

I could already see it. I would run to it. I would kick it. I would throw it. Scientists say that throwing and catching a ball at my age is serious developmental work — which basically means I am not just playing, I am training. I am an athlete. A prodigy. A legend in the making.

And then.

MY TUMMY SAID NO.

The Mysterious Tummy Curse

Out of NOWHERE. A rumble. A gurgle. A full-scale emergency.

I had a… situation. A code brown. A catastrophic event that shall not be described in further detail except to say: it was not great. 😨

Baba went into full panic mode — bless him, he tried his best — and just like that, the ball was gone, the dream was gone, and we were going HOME.

Here is the thing though. I have noticed a pattern:

  • Every time I get to the fun tent area to sit and play… my tummy attacks.
  • Every. Single. Time.
  • This is NOT a coincidence.

I have done the research (in my head, because I am very smart), and I have concluded: that place has a virus. 🤣 It targets only me. Specifically me. Right before the fun part. Very suspicious. Someone should investigate this.

Anyway. The ball will have to wait. I will be back, big ball. I will be back.

The Gift Exchange That Forgot Someone (ME)

Now. Let us discuss the other scandal of this week.

A few days ago was March 8th — International Women’s Day. A very important holiday. I am a woman (a very small one, but still). And what happened?

  • Mama gave Baba: two beautiful marbles. Incredible. Thoughtful. Very classy.
  • Baba gave Mama: a ring. Ooh la la.
  • Sudo got: absolutely nothing. 😤

Excuse me??? I am RIGHT HERE. I live in this house. I am charming AND adorable AND I have been dealing with a mysterious tummy virus all week. I deserve SOMETHING.

But apparently, my gift is coming “next week” — maybe a bicycle, maybe a little chair. MAYBE. As if I am supposed to just WAIT like a reasonable person.

I do not wait. I am 20 months old. Time is not real to me.

My Demands Going Forward

Since I am a fair and reasonable toddler, here is what I require:

  • 🚴 A bicycle. The cool kind. With things that make noise.
  • 🏀 A return trip to Decathlon — but this time, tummy must cooperate.
  • 🎁 To never be left out of gift exchanges again. I am a woman. I count.
  • 🔬 A full investigation into the mysterious Decathlon Tummy Curse Virus.

That is all for today. I am tired. Being this dramatic takes a lot of energy.

Sudo, aged 20 months, wronged but resilient. 💪
