The Ball. The Rice. The Nap. A Perfect Day (You’re Welcome).
March 18, 2026 — By Sudo, Age 20 Months, Certified Ball Kicking Expert

🏀 Chapter One: The Ball Incident
Okay. So today the weather was BEAUTIFUL. Like, the sky was doing its whole blue-and-sunny thing, and honestly? It was doing it FOR ME. I could tell.
So obviously, I demanded we go play ball outside. And by “demanded,” I mean I picked up the ball, walked to the door, and stared at the adults until they understood. I am 20 months old. I do not have time for long explanations.
Here is what happened during ball time:
- I kicked the ball. PERFECTLY.
- The ball rolled away. I ran after it. I am FAST.
- The ball went somewhere it wasn’t supposed to go. I looked at the adults. They went to get it. As they should.
- I kicked it again. Even better this time. I am improving at an alarming rate.
Science says toddlers my age are developing gross motor skills through activities like kicking and throwing balls. So basically, I wasn’t just playing. I was doing research. Very important research. Don’t interrupt.

🍚 Chapter Two: Lunchtime — The Rice Situation
After all that world-class athletic performance, I was STARVING. Like, dramatically, urgently, end-of-the-world starving.
They gave me rice. And you know what? Today, rice was ACCEPTABLE. I ate it. Mostly. Some of it went on the tray. A little went on the floor. That was intentional — I was testing gravity. It still works, by the way. You’re welcome, science.
Eating is a very complicated activity for someone of my status. I have opinions about:
- Which spoon I use (the good spoon, obviously)
- How the food is arranged (don’t let things touch each other, this is basic)
- Whether I feed myself or someone feeds me (today: myself, because I am an independent woman)
- How many times I say “more” before they give me more (the answer is: as many times as needed)
Lunch was a success. I finished. I banged my spoon twice to signal I was done. The adults understood immediately. We are finally communicating effectively.

😴 Chapter Three: The Great Nap of 2026
Now. Normally, nap time is a negotiation. A long, exhausting negotiation where I make my case very clearly (screaming) and they make their case (also kind of screaming, but softer). It’s a whole thing.
But TODAY? Today I was so pleasantly full of rice and so pleasantly tired from my elite ball-kicking performance that I simply… lay down… and went to sleep.
I KNOW. I was shocked too.
Experts say that good sleep routines help toddlers sleep better and wake up happier. And I woke up VERY happy. Like, suspiciously happy. I’m choosing to believe it’s because I am well-rested and powerful. Not because the rice made me sleepy. Absolutely not that.
📋 Final Verdict: Today Was a 10/10
Let me summarize today’s achievements for the record:
- ✅ Kicked ball with elite precision
- ✅ Made the weather feel appreciated by being outside in it
- ✅ Ate rice like a champion (floor portions were intentional)
- ✅ Took a nap willingly (this will NOT happen every day, do not get used to it)
- ✅ Woke up happy and ready for more chaos
Today was perfect. I was perfect. The weather knew it. The ball knew it. The rice knew it.
Tomorrow I will probably be a complete disaster again. But today? Today was MINE.
