The Great Ball Games, Lunch Victory & The Nap I Didn’t Ask For
March 18, 2026 — Sunny. Warm. Perfect conditions for greatness.

The Ball Games: A Historic Event
Today, I played ball. And not just ANY ball. THE ball. MY ball. The one that is mine.
Let me tell you something about balls. They are ROUND. They ROLL. They go EXACTLY where I kick them, which is everywhere, which is perfect. I am basically a professional athlete at this point. Scientists call this stage “throwing and kicking development” — I call it being incredibly talented.
According to the people who study toddlers like me, kids my age are already jumping, running, and throwing things. That’s just facts. But those kids haven’t seen what I can do with a ball in warm sunshine. That’s a whole different level.
- 🌟 I kicked the ball. It went far. I am amazing.
- 🌟 I chased the ball. I ran SO fast. Nobody could catch me.
- 🌟 The ball rolled away from me once. I screamed. The ball came back. I win.
The weather was beautiful. Sunny. Warm. The kind of day where everything feels possible — like maybe I COULD have cookies for breakfast if I just asked loudly enough. (I tried. The answer was still no. The injustice continues.)

Lunch: The Complicated Part
After my world-class athletic performance, they said it was time for lunch. Rice. We had RICE.
Now. I have opinions about rice. Some days, rice is the greatest invention known to mankind. Today was one of those days. I ate it. ALL of it. Like a champion.
Did I also throw a little bit on the floor first? That is not the point. The point is that I eventually ate it, and that should be celebrated with applause and probably a trophy.
Here is what I have learned about eating: grown-ups get very excited when I finish my food. This is useful information. I file it under “things that get me extra attention,” right next to “saying new words” and “being generally adorable.” Apparently kids my age understand way more than we let on. Correct. I understand everything. I just choose what to act on strategically.
- 🍚 Rice consumed: Most of it.
- 🍚 Rice launched onto floor: A little bit. For science.
- 🍚 Parental reaction to my finishing lunch: Very positive. As expected.

The Nap That Nobody Asked For (Except Apparently Everyone)
And then. THEN. They put me down for a nap.
I want to be very clear: I was NOT tired. I was simply resting my eyes. While lying completely still. Under a blanket. For an extended period of time.
Okay fine. I slept really well. It was a great nap. The warm sunny day, the fresh air from playing outside, the big lunch — apparently all of that makes a very sleepy Sudo. Experts say outdoor play and physical activity are really good for toddler development. So technically, my nap was also educational. You’re welcome.
I dreamed about the ball. Obviously.
Today was a good day. Sunny, warm, full of athletic glory and carbohydrates. Tomorrow I will do it all again, but BIGGER. And maybe — just maybe — I will finally convince them about the cookies.
Probably not. But I am nothing if not persistent.
