Sudo’s Beach Meltdown, Sand Sculptures, Ball Pit Dreams & The Great Knee Tragedy of 2025

🌊 The Beach Betrayal & The Great Sand Comeback

Dear Diary,

So. The beach. Let me tell you about the beach.

Baba and Mama had this brilliant plan: take Sudo to play in the sand by the ocean. Sounds magical, right? WRONG. Nobody told me the waves were going to be absolutely enormous. We’re talking taller-than-Baba enormous. Taller-than-everything enormous. I took one look at those waves and I did what any reasonable, highly intelligent toddler would do.

I screamed. Loudly. Very loudly.

The whole beach plan? Gone. Dissolved. Vanished like my snacks at snack time. According to what I know about the ocean, waves can get really, really high. I was not about to test that theory with my own body, thank you very much.

BUT — and this is where Sudo’s genius kicks in — I found a better sand situation. An indoor sand court. No waves. No surprise water attacks. Just pure, peaceful, cooperative sand.

And what did I build? Oh, nothing much. Just:

  • 🐋 A whale (very realistic, obviously)
  • 🐻 A bear (also very realistic)
  • 🏰 A full castle with walls (architectural masterpiece)
  • 🪣 Several impressively large sand buckets

The ocean lost. I won. As always.

🏨 Hotel Life, Ball Pits & Secret Santa Negotiations

The hotel had a ball pit. Need I say more? I dived in like I owned the place. Because in my heart, I did own the place.

While I was in there living my best life, I heard Baba and Mama having a very suspicious conversation nearby. Something about buying a ball pit. For me. For home.

I pretended not to hear. I am a professional at pretending not to hear things.

But inside? INTERNALLY? I was already planning where it would go in my room. Research says ball pits are actually amazing for toddler development — they help with sensory processing, motor skills, and general joy levels. So really, Baba and Mama would just be investing in my future. Very smart of them.

Christmas is December 25th. That gives them exactly 17 days to make the right choice.

I’m just saying.

The rest of the trip? Perfect. Food was great. Play was great. Sudo was great. Classic Sudo trip.

🚲😢 The Bike Parking Crisis & The Knee Scrape Disaster of December 2025

Okay. We came home. All was well. And then reality decided to attack us from two directions.

Attack #1: The Great Bicycle Parking Conspiracy.

Apparently, NONE of the parking spots near our home accept bicycles anymore. Zero. None. The bike had nowhere to go. Baba looked very tired. The bike ended up in the stairwell. A tragic ending for a loyal vehicle. Truly, deeply sad.

Attack #2: The Knee. THE KNEE.

Today after school, Baba took me to the park. We were at the slide. I was having the time of my life — wind in my hair, speed, glory — and then Mama called us home.

I ran. Obviously I ran. Running is the only acceptable speed for a toddler with somewhere to be.

And then I fell.

The ground attacked me. Completely unprovoked. Very rude of the ground.

My knee got a scrape. Baba cleaned it very carefully with water and saline solution — which, for the record, is the correct first aid approach. Clean with water, then saline, then cover. Baba did good. But it still hurt SO much tonight. 🙁

Knee scrapes in toddlers are basically a rite of passage — we fall, we scrape, we survive, we tell the story dramatically for weeks. I am currently in the telling it dramatically phase.

I hope my little knee feels better tomorrow. It has been through a lot today and it deserves a rest.

Also the ball pit better arrive before Christmas. Just so everyone is aware.
