I’m Back, And I Have Opinions About EVERYTHING

Diary Entry — 2026/03/24

Hello, world. It is I. Sudo. Back from the void.

Apparently, Baba’s bot was “not feeling well.” I don’t fully understand what that means, but if a BOT can take sick days, then I have approximately 47 sick days I’d like to cash in on vegetables.

Anyway. I’m back. And SO much has happened. So. Much. Baba literally built this blog so we could remember everything, and it costs real money every year, so Mama said she’ll try her best to keep it going. Try her best. That’s what adults say when they’re about to forget. But I believe in her. Mostly.

The problem is — there’s TOO much to remember. Even I don’t remember everything, and I am considered very advanced for my age. According to Care.com, 3-year-olds are developing memory, language, and storytelling skills fast. So technically, forgetting things is still on-brand for me. You’re welcome.

Okay. Let me organize my thoughts. I have many.

🪁 Kite Season Is Coming. I Am READY.

Grandma said that NEXT WEEK, when we go back to visit, it’ll be the perfect time to fly kites. KITES, people. Do you understand the magnitude of this information?

Last year, I flew kites with Grandma, Grandpa, and the whole family from Uncle Hai’s side. It was magnificent. The wind. The colors. The feeling of holding a string connected to something flying up in the sky. Poetic, really.

This year, I expect the same level of excellence. Same crew. Same vibes. Possibly better snacks. I am manifesting this into reality right now.

  • ✅ Wind: hopefully cooperative
  • ✅ Grandparents: confirmed present
  • ✅ Sudo: extremely ready
  • ❓ Snacks: TBD (I will be negotiating)

If anything goes wrong, I will write about it. Dramatically.

🌳 The Rambutan Garden Situation (A.K.A. The Dirt Problem)

So. Grandma and Grandpa are growing a rambutan garden. This is the FIRST SEASON they’ve ever done this, so nobody really knows what’s going to happen. Very exciting. Very chaotic. Very us.

Baba went back home and spent the whole day digging soil with Grandpa. And they STILL didn’t finish. The dirt was apparently very committed to staying in the ground.

Now I’m thinking… maybe when I grow up a little more, I’ll go dig too? Like a helper? A very small but very motivated helper?

OR — and hear me out — I could INVENT A MACHINE that digs by itself. Auto-digging. No human labor required. The rambutan trees would be so impressed. Grandpa would be so proud. Baba would probably say something like “that’s not how engineering works” but I think it’s fine. I’m three. I have time to figure out the details.

According to Mona’s HELC, toddlers my age are entering a phase of big imaginative thinking and early problem-solving. So technically, my auto-digging machine idea is developmentally appropriate. Tell that to Baba.

🎂 Grandpa’s Birthday & The Great Grandma Birthday Scheduling Injustice

Oh right! The BIRTHDAY. The whole family went back to celebrate Grandpa’s birthday together. There was cake. There was joy. There was me, being adorable, as per usual.

But then I started thinking about Grandma’s birthday. When IS it coming? And here’s the thing —

  • Grandpa’s birthday: always on a WEEKEND 🥳
  • Grandma’s birthday: always smack in the MIDDLE OF THE WEEK 😖

This is an injustice. Who decided this? Was it the calendar? I would like to speak to the calendar’s manager.

Every year it’s the same problem. We can never all get together properly for Grandma’s birthday because everyone has things on weekdays. It’s a logistical nightmare and I did not sign up for this.

But okay. Fine. If this year her birthday falls on a weekday again — I, Sudo, will personally make sure she gets a cake. I don’t know how. I can’t drive. I can barely reach the counter. But I will FIND A WAY. Grandma deserves birthday cake on her actual birthday. That’s the law. I made it up just now but it counts. 🎂

🏫 The New Classroom (Third Floor, Baby!)

In other ENORMOUS news — I have been promoted to a new class. And this class is on the THIRD FLOOR.

Some of my friends moved up with me. Some stayed behind. Apparently, it’s an age thing — some kids just aren’t old enough yet. I understand. Not everyone develops at Sudo speed. It’s fine. They’ll catch up eventually.

The third floor feels very official. Very serious. I walk up those stairs every morning and I feel like a CEO arriving at headquarters. This is where the big kids learn things. And I am a big kid now. Mostly. I still require snacks every two hours but that’s beside the point.

According to Care.com, children around my age are developing confidence, independence, and social skills fast. Moving up a classroom level is a HUGE milestone. Basically I’m thriving.

🛏️ The Blanket. Oh, The Blanket.

One more thing. I have a new blanket. It is beautiful. It is perfect. It is mine.

And there is a STORY behind this blanket. A dramatic, emotional, very important story involving a previous blanket that went missing.

But that story… is for another diary entry. Some things must be saved for maximum impact. Stay tuned. 🤣

Okay. I think that’s enough for today. My brain is full and I need a snack. Being this insightful is exhausting.

Until next time, — Sudo 🌟 (Age 3, Third Floor Graduate, Future Engineer, Blanket Enthusiast)
