My Amazing Weekend Adventure! (aka Operation: Visit Grandma!)

Back to the Motherland!

Guess what? I went back to Grandma’s house this weekend! It was, like, the BEST. THING. EVER. Except for the part where I had to sit still in the car. That was basically torture.

The highlight? My cousin Bột! He gave me rides on his little bike. I’m basically a professional cyclist now. We looked super cute riding together; Mom even took pictures. I’m pretty sure I’m more famous than those other cyclists, the ones adults keep talking about.

Fruit Frenzy!

Okay, so Grandma’s house is basically a giant fruit farm. Seriously! The ONLY durian tree in the back exploded with ripeness! There were also longans, dragon fruit, and dates ALL ripe at the SAME TIME! I ate so much fruit, I think I turned into a walking, talking fruit salad. No regrets. Except maybe I regret not eating MORE. Is that even possible?

Visiting Great-Grandma (and a Slightly Sad Party)

We also went to Great-Grandma’s for a memorial party. It was…okay. But not as many people were there as before. Everyone is busy or old. I hope next year more people come. It’s important to see family even if I wanted to eat more fruit. I did learn that family is important. I still prefer fruit.

Original: Sudo đã có một cuối tuần thật vui, sudo đã về quê, chơi với nội và anh bột. Sudo được anh Bột chở đi trên chiếc xe đạp nhỏ, nhìn 2 anh em chở nhau mà thấy thương. haha.

Chuyến về quê này sudo có vẻ bội thu, trái sâu riêng duy nhất phía sau nhà nội đã chín, những cây nhãn, thanh long và trái chà là cũng chín đồng loạt. Thế là sudo được ăn quá nhiều trái cây ngon.

Sudo cũng đã về nhà bà cố để đi đám giỗ, đám giỗ năm nay có vẻ vắng hơn những năm trước. Có lẽ vì mọi người cũng bận và sức khoẻ của các bà cũng đã yếu đi nhiều. Phần còn lại, con cháu thì cũng đi học nên cũng không về được. Hi vọng năm sau sẽ đông vui hơn.
